Kimiko Leibnitz

In July 2005 I finally handed in my Ph.D. thesis in English Cultural Studies at the University of W├╝rzburg. The title of my thesis is: "Brief chronicles of the time: Die Frauenfiguren in Hamlet-Verfilmungen des 20. Jahrhunderts. Eine kulturhistorische Untersuchung." At the moment I am preparing for the defense of my thesis, which will hopefully take place by the end of this year.

In the future, I intend to work as a postdoctoral researcher. My fields of interest are Shakespeare Studies, Renaissance Studies, Gender Studies, and Media Studies.

I like to spend my spare time with outdoor activities and sports. Since December 2002, I have taken up a new sport: archery. I find shooting with bow and arrow especially fascinating, as it requires strength as well as concentration to achieve satisfying results. My enthusiasm for this sport led to my attending a training course for (archery) coaches in spring 2005 and passing the final test successfully. Currently I coach young archers up to the age of 14 years at my club.
