Kazuko Leibnitz

Her main hobbies are gardening and botanical studies, such as the growing of orchids which she grows in a climatized room. On the artisitic side she enjoys patchwork and quilting. Her first experiments were in the old traditional American style, but nowadys she designs also more modern patterns.

Being a Japanese, she still keeps close contact to her native country and is an active member of the German Siebold Association (Deutschen Siebold-Gesellschaft, named after Philip Franz von Siebold, a Franconian medical doctor who spent many years in Japan). Due to her connections to various Japanese artists she has frequently contributed to the organisation of cultural events.

Kazuko also collects Oriental pottery and old European glass, especially from Bohemia. She is a member of the Oriental Ceramic Society, London, UK and the American Orchid Society
